10 August 1965, Glendale, California, USA
5' 8"
Claudia Christian was born on August 10, 1965, in Glendale, California. Her family moved to Connecticut some afterwards. At age five, she was bitten by the acting bug when she played a Native American in a school play. After her family returned to California, she graduated high school at 16, and set out to start her acting career. She worked in a coffee house and then at a clothing store for two years before landing her first acting role on the soap _"Dallas" (1978)_ (qv). In her next appearance, she played Kara in the television movie, _Calendar Girl Murders (1984) (TV)_ (qv). Her big break came when she landed the part of "Susan Ivanova" on the science-fiction series _"Babylon 5" (1994)_ (qv). Her grandfather is a surgeon and her three older brothers are genetic engineers and veterinarians. Claudia enjoys listening to opera, painting, extreme sports, playing piano, collecting antiques and hosting dinner parties. She is fluent in French, Italian and German and enjoys acting in these languages. Claudia was voted "sexiest woman in sci-fi" by SFX Magazine in 1998.

Claudia Christian does it all, she's an actor, a writer, a musician, a singer, a director and she continues to expand her horizons. Christian made one of her most memorable performances in her feature film debut in the cult classic, _The Hidden (1987)_ (qv), opposite 'Kyle MacLachlan' (qv). She went on from there to star in over 40 features including _Clean and Sober (1988)_ (qv), starring 'Michael Keaton' (qv) and 'Morgan Freeman (I)' (qv), the leading role of "Hexina" in Columbia's comedy _Hexed (1993)_ (qv), opposite 'Charlie Sheen' (qv) in 20th Century Fox's _The Chase (1994)_ (qv) and as a photographer in 'Adam Rifkin' (qv)'s quirky feature, _Never on Tuesday (1989)_ (qv). Fans saw Claudia at the box office starring opposite 'Steven Seagal' (qv) in the action thriller, _Half Past Dead (2002)_ (qv). Christian did the British sci-fi series, _"Starhyke" (2009)_ (qv), in which she played the lead role and also directed several episodes. Claudia also starred in the HBO movies, _Running Home (1999)_ (qv) and _The Substitute 3: Winner Takes All (1999) (TV)_ (qv), co-starring 'Treat Williams' (qv). Making her mark in independent films, Claudia donned a fat suit and stepped into the rude and crude role of "Elaine Kilgore" from her hit indie film, _True Rights (2000)_ (qv). The film has won numerous awards. Additionally, Claudia starred in _The Failures (2003)_ (qv), working again with acclaimed director 'Tim Hunter (I)' (qv) (_River's Edge (1986)_ (qv)). In addition to her film credits, Christian's work in television is also extensive and includes the lead role as "Commander Susan Ivanova" in the Warner Bros. syndicated internationally-recognized top cult television series, _"Babylon 5" (1994)_ (qv). She has also starred in two TNT-produced TV-films based upon the series. "Babylon 5" has developed an enormous European following and twice won the Hugo award for best science-fiction television series. Christian received Sci-Fi Awards and Universe Awards best actress nominations for her role in the series. Other television credits include numerous movies-of-the-week starring with such greats as 'Faye Dunaway' (qv), 'Peter Falk (I)' (qv), 'Bob Hope (I)' (qv), 'Don Ameche' (qv), 'Sharon Stone (I)' (qv) and 'Jaclyn Smith (I)' (qv), among many others. She's also been seen frequently on network television in shows such as _"Everwood" (2002)_ (qv), _"Freaks and Geeks" (1999)_ (qv), _"Highlander" (1992)_ (qv) and _"NYPD Blue" (1993)_ (qv), just to name a few. One of Claudia's many passions is music and writing. She wrote both the lyrics and music for her first CD "Taboo", which she co-produced with Michael Jay ('Céline Dion' (qv)). She also has produced and sung on two additional albums, "Claudia Squared", and the jazz & blues album, "Trying to Forget". Her long-awaited fourth CD, "Once Upon a Time", has her working again with the extremely talented musician and her _"Babylon 5" (1994)_ (qv) co-star 'Bill Mumy' (qv) and recent winners of the 'John Lennon (I)' (qv) song-writing award, "Share and Bam Ross". Always expanding her musical horizons, she went to Scotland to record an album for the first ever Sci-Fi musical, "Area 51". Claudia also lends her voice to many different venues including live-action Internet on line games such as "Earth and Beyond", Playstation games such as "Shrek 2", commercials such as Jaguar automobiles and her highly- successful series of audio books from the Radio Repertory Company of America, "Anne Manx". The last installment of "Anne Manx", entitled "Trouble On Chromius", won the Golden Headset award for Best Ensemble Cast in 2003. On the horizon is the highly-anticipated animated feature, _Geppetto's Secret (2005)_ (qv), coming soon from DVX Entertainment. In 2006, Claudia starred in the psychological thriller, _The Garden (2006)_ (qv) (aka "River to Havilah"), co-starring 'Lance Hendrickson' (qv). Claudia moved to London in 2006 and starred in the BBC-TV series, _"Broken News" (2005)_ (qv) and did many independent films throughout Europe. She returned to Los Angeles in 2009 and did a well-received guest turn in _"Nip/Tuck" (2003)_ (qv), which led to her being cast in Showtime's edgy dark comedy, _"Look" (2010)_ (qv), which aired in 2010. In 2011, she starred in the film, "Leashed" with 'Chad Lowe (I)' (qv). Claudia has a non-fiction book being published in 2012 by BenBella.
