-   Was discovered by 'Jackie Gleason (I)' (qv).

-   His first daughter's name is Erin, with his first wife Elaine and a daughter Lauren Ashley with second wife Kathleen. His wife, Kathleen, is an attorney. They met following one of his performances.

-   His signature song is "Danke Schoen" (German for "Thank You").

-   Newton and attorney wife Kathleen announced in April 2002 they are expecting a girl in May, and that they are using a surrogate mother to have this, their first child.

-   Met 'Elvis Presley' (qv) while the two were working at Paramount. They became close friends.

-   The street leading to the front of Las Vegas' McCarran Airport has been called "Wayne Newton Boulevard" for over 20 years.

-   Presented a prestigious award at the July 2006 National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Continental Congress in Washington DC for his work with the USO.

-   His role as "Professor Joe Butcher" in _Licence to Kill (1989)_ (qv) was the fulfillment of an old ambition: to participate in a "James Bond - 007" movie.

-   Following actress Dana Plato's first arrest for armed robbery in 1991, he posted the $13,000 bail.

-   Has been diagnosed with a viral infection to the heart, known as cardiomyopathy. Doctors told him that he should be recovered in two months' time [November 15, 2007].

-   Has an estate called "Casa de Shenandoah" on the southeast side of Las Vegas.

-   He was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Recording at 6909 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California.

-   Was originally discovered by Julius (Bookie) Levin who ran a talent agency and started the lounge show business in Las Vegas.
