Full Plot

Morgan Adams and her slave, William Shaw, are on a quest to recover the three portions of a treasure map. Unfortunately, the final portion is held by her murderous uncle, Dawg. Her crew is skeptical of her leadership abilities, so she must complete her quest before they mutiny against her. This is made yet more difficult by the efforts of the British crown to end her piratical raids. Stern Morgan Adams' father's dying gifts to her are his pirate ship and a one-third part of a map of a treasure island - unusually inscribed on his scalp. Thinking herself in need of a Latin scholar to unravel the map, she buys learned slave William Shaw and sets off in search of the rest of the map. However, it is Shaw, obviously with plans of his own, who gets the second part. He's somewhat easier to deal with, though, than the holder of the last part - Morgan's less-than-loving piratical uncle Dawg. Jeremy Perkins Plot not found

Dawg: You plannin' to fight me with that little stick? Morgan: No, Uncle. With this! [Morgan reveals a loaded cannon and lights it, aiming it at Dawg] Morgan: Bad Dawg! Morgan: They're backwards. William: I assure you ma'am, they're normal in every respect. Pirate: We can't leave yet, Captain. We haven't put enough food on board. Dawg Brown: We need less mouths. [Shoots Pirate] Dawg: I love this. [arms extended into air] I love it! Morgan: Give me the map. William: Give me... a kiss first. William: Congratulations, madam. There's another town you've destroyed. Morgan: Stop your chatter and say something Latin-ish. Dawg: [watching Morgan and Shaw falling into the ocean] Love. Who can explain it? William Shaw: [after catching Morgan hanging from a rope] I wish I'd never learned Latin. Morgan: [about the Lieutenant's gun] By the way, that won't work. See, I took your balls. Morgan: [about his sword fighting] Very pretty Mr. Shaw. William Shaw: Thank you, ma'am. I had the good fortune to study with a grand master in Vienna. Morgan: Glasspoole! Glasspoole: Aye! Morgan: [to Shaw] Now, stop diddling and kill the man. William Shaw: Kill him? Bless me, we never got to that. William: It is hard to imagine which part of your life would require me to speak Latin. William: Why don't *you* row? Morgan: Why don't you *swim*? Morgan: [to William after he asks her to be charitable] I brim with charity. I am charity's very soul. And because I am so charitable, I will maroon you on a rock the size of this table, instead of splattering your brains across my bulkhead... as you deserve. Dawg: [after boarding Morgan's ship] Who wants to die first?

- Morgan Adams' flag was flown by "Calico" Jack Rackham, one of the only Caribbean pirates to have women on his crew (Anne Bonny and Mary Read). He later turned his ship over to them.

- 'Renny Harlin' (qv) is famous for pushing actors to do their own stunts whenever possible. While promoting the film, 'Geena Davis' (qv) appeared on talk shows with clips of her doing stunts over and over (including one take where she fell out of the window too soon, rolled down the roof and under the carriage) and explained the bruises and injuries she sustained while filming.

- Dawg Brown's flag is the oldest known "Jolly Roger" flag, flown by Captain Emmanuel Wynne.

- Dawg's outfit matches that of pirate captain Kit Oloard.

- 'Geena Davis' (qv)' "impossible stunt" (jumping out of a window, rolling onto the roof of a building, and landing on a moving carriage) was a digital composite of two shots; one shot of her falling, and a second shot of her already in the carriage, pretending she just landed there.
